Here’s What to Expect:

💫 We’ll spend a few days in the capital city of Cairo soaking up Egypt’s modern & historic culture. After hitting iconic bucket-list sites like the Pyramids of Giza and the recently opened Grand Egyptian Museum, we’ll venture to some off-the-beaten-path spots and enjoy local gems most tourists don’t get to see.

💫 From there, we’ll travel south to Luxor to witness some of the most breathtaking and magnificent ancient sites known to humankind including Karnak Temple, Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and more!

💫 We’ll board a private dahabiya, a traditional Egyptian sleeper boat, and sail from Luxor to Aswan along the most lush part of the Nile while stopping at impressive historic sites such as the Temple of Edfu, Kom Ombo, and more. We’ll dock at small gaziras (islands) along the way so you can absorb the culture and rich traditions of the Nubian people.

💫 After disembarking the dahabiya, we’ll spend some time basking in the peaceful lifestyle in the Nubian village of Aswan. You’ll have time to enjoy the local culture, savor the delicious flavors, and witness some of the beautiful Nubian architecture before we head back to Cairo to wrap up this incredible journey.

Sail down the Nile in style.

Dahabiyas are traditional-style boats that date back to the time of the pharaohs. In Arabic, dahab means “gold,” as these were often built for royalty to sail from Upper to Lower Egypt. Unlike the stereotypical commercial Nile cruises, you'll have the luxury to comfortably and peacefully sail from one site to the next while soaking up the beautiful views.

I specially curated this itinerary to provide an immersive experience of Egypt's rich and diverse cultures. From the world’s most awe-inspiring ancient sites to the hidden gems of the modern day to the tucked-away villages, this is the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation, wallahi!

DAY 1

You'll be picked up from Cairo airport and taken to your beautiful hotel. We'll meet for the first time as a group for a private dinner on the Nile with delicious traditional Egyptian food and live music. This is a chance to get acquainted and comfy with your fellow travelers!

DAY 2

You’ll head to Old Cairo to visit the Salah El Din Citadel and mosque of Mohamed Ali, then visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization to learn more about ancient history and see the mummies of Egypt's most powerful pharaohs! You’ll get to visit a famous souk called “Khan Al Khalili” in Cairo's old historic area to shop for handmade goods and souvenirs.

DAY 3

You’ll get a guided tour of the famous Pyramids of Giza and the monumental Sphynx & camel ride through the desert, eat at a beautiful cafe with a pyramid view, and then head to the Grand Egyptian Museum to deepen our knowledge of these fascinating ancient civilizations. You’ll dine at a delicious local restaurant and explore downtown on our last night in the city.

DAY 4

You’ll wake up early to head to Luxor and check into a stunning hotel. The tour will begin at the Valley of the Kings, with colorful, well-preserved tombs that offer fascinating insights into ancient beliefs about the afterlife; then the Temple of Hatshepsut, built for one of Egypt’s most powerful queens, and finally, the Colossi of Memnon with two statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.

DAY 5

After breakfast, you’ll head to the East Bank to witness monumental sites such as Karnak Temple, the largest temple complex in the world, built to honor the sun god Amun-Re, and Luxor Temple with beautifully preserved high-relief carvings. Afterward, you’ll board a private Dahabiya where we’ll begin our epic sailing adventure on the Nile!

DAY 6

You’ll wake up as we sail to Edfu to visit the Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. You’ll get to wander through massive stone halls, admire the intricate carvings depicting ancient rituals, and learn about the interesting mythological battles. In the evening, we’ll dock at a small island and sit around a campfire with locals in a Nubian village.

DAY 7

We’ll sail to El Silsila to see the ancient sandstone quarries and then to Kom Ombo Temple, dedicated to Sobek (crocodile god) and Horus the Elder. You’ll have a chance to see ancient mummified crocodiles in a museum! Then, you’ll get to enjoy a traditional homemade meal in a Nubian family’s home and learn more about their unique history living along the Nile.

DAY 8

At last, we’ll sail to Aswan and visit the High Dam on our way to Philae Temple on Agilkia Island. It’s a stunning temple dedicated to Isis that was relocated stone by stone from Philae Island to save it from flooding after the dam’s construction. Afterward, you’ll explore some of Aswan’s local markets and bazaars with some free time to wander around the city.

DAY 9

Our last day in Aswan you’ll have the option to travel south a few hours to see Abu Simbel, an impressive monument built for Ramses II, or stay in the village and enjoy the tranquility of Elephantine Island. We’ll enjoy our last dinner together before heading back to Cairo the next morning.

DAY 10

This will be our last morning in Cairo as a group! We’ll arrive early and say our final goodbyes (maa salaama). From there you can stay longer in the city, explore other parts of the country, or head home with all these incredible memories and new forever family. Either way, I’m confident you’ll be eager to return soon, as there’s so much more of Egypt to see!
